|||
Following another hugely successful year in 2007. Midnight Street Soccer is ready for Kick Off again. December seen Sally Gardens win the Championship and Ardnamoyle win the Shield. Beginning on Friday 28th and Saturday 29th March, leagues for 14 to 17 year olds will be held at the following venues (Saturday unless otherwise stated):
The staff at Midnight Street Soccer wish Diarmaid McAuley all the best in his new adventure with Sport NI. Diarmaid, who was the founder of Midnight Street Soccer left during the summer to take a new post within Sport Northern Ireland. He worked very hard to setup and manage MSS over the past 2 years, and we wish him all the best. The new Project Manager, Billy Wylie, believes that after the sucess of the last leagues the competition is ready for a new generation of players to come through the Midnight Street Soccer. "Last year, Midnight Street Soccer exceeded our expectations. Most of the teams who made it to Dundalk were surprisingly young. The project has grown remarkably in such a short period of time and we are working hard to bring it to new areas and to create new opportunities for young people to take part in sport. We have already introduced some new venues for 2007, and even more in 2008. We hope to exapnd on other elements of the project including Midnight Street Soccer FC and Coach Education". Midnight Street Soccer provides unique experences for young people to participate in sport at the times when communities are vulnerable to anti social activities.
